A typical query:
The key here is affordable. I want a web design company that wont charge me for every little thing and if I could have some control over the site and making changes every now and again that would be perfect. My buddy got a site built for his company,it cost him a ton of money and he doesn’t even own his domain name.
Answer: It is not your fault you are confused. Finding a web host should not be so complicated. Web hosting is one of the most important part of your web presence and can mean the success and failure for your business.
Before we give you an absolute answer, these are seven qualities to look for in a good web hosting. An excellent hosting:
- lets you try their service for free or at very low price,
- gives more-than-enough webspace,
- offers unlimited bandwidth,
- gives multiple add-on domains,
- has friendly Site Builder with thousands of unique templates,
- has QuickInstall to quickly install apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, OSCommerce, ZenCart and more
- can be easily upgraded to VPS or one of the best dedicated server plans if and when your business require.

Hostgator Complaints
No web hosting service is perfect. Some complaints about Hostgator plans include:
- No free domain name included – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. Would you agree that a website is not complete without a domain name?
- You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost. It is like they say, you get what you pay for.

There are 3 ways to build a website.
1. Use a Sitebuilder. If you get a good web host, a Sitebuilder is provided for free. For instant, Hostgator comes with over 4000 designs to choose from. You can choose this option in the beginning to save cost and to build your website quickly. You can still get a designer to improve your website at a later time. For more info and to view the templates, go to http://go.peraduan.com/hostgator-templates.php
Pros: Free (with hosting account). Get your website up quickly in less than 1 hour.
Cons: They may not produce be the best looking design or you may not get what you are looking for
Use coupon code SERVERHOSTING to get 25% discount from Host Gator.
2. Get a web designer to help you plan and prepare your website. You can get a local web designer, but we suggest you hire a somebody online. You can post your project online at CrowdSpring or 99designs.com and hundreds of designers will present their ideas for you to choose.
For a more serious or more complicated web development project, you can use Elance or Odesk. Elance is great to find developers for fixed-price projects while Odesk is most suitable for hourly assignments and for virtual-assistance type of work. See the link in resource box below for more info.
Pros: You will be able to create a very unique website, if that is really your requirement.
Cons: This option can be expensive depending on your requirements and it will take some time for the designer to produce the website design.
3. Build the website yourself. It may not be for you but it can be very satisfying and you get to learn a lot too. You can use a simple WYSIWYG HTML editor such as Coffee Cup. If you want to be a designer yourself, you must have the software used by Web designers, which is Adobe Dreamweaver.
Pros: You can learn. Maybe can become a designer too.
Cons: Not for everyone. Time consuming.

A CMS like wordpress can be used to create a site for affordable rates. You wont have to go to the company every time you want to make changes in the content. Layout changes might cost you some extra money. You can contact through the form on the website (What’s your source? link) and request for a quote for a wordpress based site (not blog)

It depends on what you mean by affordable. Asking how much a site will cost is kind of like asking, “How much does a car cost?” Well, it depends – do you need an economy compact or a full-sized SUV? And how do you determine which will suit you best?
This depends on a number of things – and can be better defined by answering a few pertinent questions, for example –
– What is your target market?
– What features should your site have?
– How large will it be?
– Will it include multimedia, etc?
– Do you need an e-commerce site?

Well, generally affordable doesn’t comes hand in hand with great. But yea, at times it does. I am quite reputed web designer and have worked in $20,000 Hollywood client as well $200 web page flyers, and the mid ones as well. We charge for every little thing to the Hollywood client, but not to the mid ones. There are some ethics, like, I make sure never to make the client uncomfortable. But to deliver absolute top notch thing no matter who ever the client is, now.. I get plenty of jobs every week now, and my work gets featured in top design blogs/websites.
The friend must have let the web design company dupe him, otherwise, you can stay rigid. How much the web design company asked? What was in your website?
Contact me at mavexma[at]yahoo[dot]com, being prominent in the field, may be I can get you someone "affordable" and "great".
