A typical problem:
I want to make a game website like miniclip or addicting games. I’m not going to put 1000s of games but just a few. I want to make a game website because in the future I might make my own games for my own professional company like addicting games. But before the future all i want is a host that allows me to put a link on a picture of a game for example super mario and i can make seperate page for that game just how in websites, when you click a game, the game has its own separate page. But i dont want the page to show on nav bar. But it will have a nav bar of course that has the game catogories but not the actual games itself.
Answer: You are not alone. Many affordable hosting is plagued with inflexibility on their resource limits and haunted by unprofessional support. Web hosting is the heart of your web presence and can mean the success and failure for your business.
Before we answer your question, let us review the 7 qualities to look for in a good web hosting. An excellent hosting:
- has at least 30 days money back guarantee,
- gives unlimited webspace,
- offers unlimited bandwidth,
- gives unlimited add-on domains,
- has friendly Site Builder with thousands of unique templates,
- has QuickInstall to quickly install apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, OSCommerce, ZenCart and more
- can be easily upgraded to VPS or one of the best dedicated server plans if and when your business require.

Hostgator Complaints
No web hosting service is perfect. Some complaints about Hostgator plans include:
- No free domain name included – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. Would you agree that a website is not complete without a domain name?
- You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost. It is like they say, you get what you pay for.
If you are still not sure if HG is right for you, or you have specific query about anything at all, try the Live Chat at HG. They are fast and knowledgeable. Just ask and you shall receive.

Gaming sites can be very resource intensive, especially if you are successful and your page gets a lot of hits (ie Digg or Reddit really like one of your games) Cloud hosting would probably be your best bet, as this will compensate for any spikes in traffic or resource usage. On a gaming site, you will want your games to load quickly, cloud hosting will accomplish this goal as well. I would recommend you check out http://www.coverthosting.com . They are really helpful and affordable too, I think their services would be perfect for you and set you up for success if your site takes off.

It sounds like you are looking for a good site builder? Otherwise that is pretty easy to do with HTML and maybe a little php.
If you are looking for a site builder add that to your question to attract people who know good site builders.

Just start off with WordPress, you can create entire pages with it, and not just blogs. Keep in mind, you won’t be allowed to post affiliate links or adds unless you host it on your own server with a host you pay monthly. You can get dozens of free themes for WordPress…
Also, shared hosting is super cheap and you can get reliable shared hosting for as little as 9c per day. This would include unlimited bandwidth, unlimited web space, unlimited databases (important), and unlimited emails as well as a great sitebuilder. Some like iPage also offer easy PEAR scripts, 1-click WordPress installation, a free domain, and $450 in free goodies. I went with iPage, and already had to bug their support with questions. Both of them were file permission related, but they solved it within minutes. Their live-chat support is amazing and very quick, and the one time I had to call them, they picked up the phone within 2 minutes…very handy if you’re new.
I also browsed the net for cheap hosting coupons, but found out a lot of them are expired or outdated. The most up-to-date coupons I found were on Twitter (don’t laugh) as it’s easier to update a Twitter stream than a website. If you go to Twitter, and search for WebHostingD, you’ll have all the latest coupons…I went with his iPage offer, and don’t regret it. They’re very reliable so far, no noticeable downtime, anytime money-back guarantee (in case I want to cancel), great support, and they’re the cheapest RELIABLE host I found. I’ve signed up for a second account and also used WebHostingD’s Twitter stream to get the coupon, he/she seems to literally update the coupons daily 🙂
Also, the stream also has some cool video tutorials that should help you get started once you signed up.
Finally, don’t sign up with Hostgator’s "only 1c in the first month offer" as their 25%OFF coupon is more valuable if you do the math…the other guy has it in his Twitter stream somewhere.
Also: NEVER PAY MORE THAN $4.5 for shared hosting! iPage/Greenville are a lot better than hosts trying to rip you off with expensive prices above $4.5/mo. Greenville hosting for example only costs you 9c/day, which is a lot better than Bluehost for example.
In short: No free host will give you total freedom, but you could start off with WordPress (google it) and then move it to a pay server once the need arrises. Either way, it won’t cost you a lot 😉

If you want a reliable web host for your game website, i suggest not taking a free one since free web hosting are actually limited and might not be good for your site. Try a web host provider that can give you more than the free web hosting but is actually very affordable like http://www.vexxhost.com. Ive tried it and I find more value in paying a low cost and get a good benefit out of it than not paying at all.

Well, definitely not GoDaddy – I wouldn’t recommend their hosting to anyone… Over the past year, GoDaddy has had numerous break-ins on their hosting servers by malicious hackers – causing great loss of data, downtime, search engine ranking, etc. Oddly, each time they’ve usually blamed their customers for this. Also, they are known for overselling their servers – typically with thousands of sites put on each machine – so your site could be rated as slow…
You’d have a much better experience with known and trusted providers like HostGator (in the U.S. with over 5M domains hosted) or 1&1 (in Europe and UK, the world’s #1 web host). Both offer inexpensive hosting plans with unlimited bandwidth, but much better historical customer service and support. Both also provide low cost domain registration, email accounts, and easy-to-use site builders.
