I am needing to create a website for someone and I am wondering what program would be best to use to do this with. It doesn’t matter if it is free or not, I am just looking for suggestions.
Answer: Warning! Using unreliable cheap hosting can leave you devastated when your hard work disappear without warning. Web hosting is the heart of your business and can mean the success and failure for your business.
Before we give you an absolute answer, these are seven qualities to look for in a good web hosting. An excellent hosting:

- offers no limit on bandwidth,
- gives multiple add-on domains,
- has friendly Site Builder with thousands of unique templates,
- has QuickInstall to quickly install apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, OSCommerce, ZenCart and more
- can be easily upgraded to VPS or one of the best dedicated server plans if and when your business require.

Hostgator Complaints
No web hosting service is perfect. Some complaints about Hostgator plans include:
- No free domain name included – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. Would you agree that a website is not complete without a domain name?
- You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost. It is like they say, you get what you pay for.

Try Blink Web or Wix, their easy to manage free website (or blog) has cool features that include drag and drop capability, switch designs on the fly, youtube and google video, custom html, upload images, flikr photo gallery, visitor stats and more. You can also buy a new domain instantly, or host your existing domain for free and make it your own (www.yourown.com)
If your looking for something more advanced but still user friendly then try XsitePro, Site Builder Designs or Calvary Studios, they have everything you need in building your own website: domain name registration or domain transfer, web hosting, web builder, site maintenance and email accounts. Everything is laid out in an easy to follow step by step instruction. Some of the features included enable you to add your own themes, videos, images or mp3 music making your site unique to you. Pricing is comparable and affordable too.
I hope that I was of some help and answered your question.

Dreamweaver, but it takes a while to learn, almost requires a class, and you should know HTML & CSs so it’s easier to use.

i suggest Dreamweaver but it’s a bit pricey..

Honestly it depends completely on what you want to do. The answers above me are right if you’re very hands-on and have awhile to learn the program. Microsoft Front Page is older and more cookie-cutter, but probably easier to use. Or if you’re okay with using a theme, you can use WordPress which is probably the most modern, but it’s best for blog sites.
No matter what you choose you’ll need time, but WordPress is easiest to use and Dream Weaver lets you do the most customization.

Keep it simple, use a plain text editor. That’s the only way you’ll really learn to code.
Notepad++ I recommend. It’s free and has superb syntax highlighting.

In the time it will take to learn how to use dreamweaver or frontpage you could learn basic HTML . I promise. It would be very difficult to create an alright website with out knowing some basics. People who use dreamweaver are usually only interested in the color coded programming view and a few other handy little tid bits.

If you are starting and don’t want to invest, you can try Visual Web Developer Express, it is free, you can get it from http://www.asp.net under the download section.
It is a great program, has almost all features as his paid version Visual Studio, but is intended for hobbysts and students, even though also allowed to be used for business.
