Question about affordable website hosting:
I would like to create my own website, but I am not a HTML expert so I was wondering what are some good site builders that also offer hosting/domain names? Other than freewebs.com and tripod.com?
Answer: Most paid hosting will have some kind of Site Builder in their features. Here is an advise:
Common Misconception
Usually, most site owners are concern with the most affordable website hosting providers but aren’t familiar if their cheapest web hosting providers can supply them with their basic requirement like a simple to use sitebuilder which often result to transferring of web hosting company and money on expense.
Clarification
When it comes in selecting your best domain hosting company, you have to be more selective during the process of your decision making. make sure that your web hosting provider has meet all your web hosting requirements and has a good reputation before you will signed up with them.
For instance, if you have a problem in finding a simple to use sitebuilder, find the best web host that have it. Majority of premium web hosting companies do have sitebuilder support. If in case, the sitebuilder and the free themes isn’t enough, you can make use of WordPress which is user-friendly content management system and blogging platform. WordPress has a huge selection of themes and plugins that you can integrate in your website beside from the reason that it can be easily installed via one-click installer like QuickInstall that can be found in your Cpanel. Just ensure that your web host supports cPanel and auto-installer.
Now, if you found out that the sitebuilder or using WordPress is still doesn’t meet the customizations you really want, there is no other way but to code your website using code editors such as Dreamweaver and Kompozer and you have to learn basic html and css. Then, just upload the finish website to your web server using a ftp client like Filezilla or Winscp.

If you’ll fetch a domain name ($5 to $10 per year, almost always on the low end) and if you’ll take just a leedle time to learn how to set things up properly, you can:
– get the domain name
– set up a Google gmail account
– register a Google Apps for Your Domain account
– set up GAfYD for your domain name
– use the Page Creator application on GAfYD to build web pages for your new website
(- incidentally, with GAfYD, you also get email, calendar, shared documents, shared chats, shared start page, and other Google services for your domain…and bunches of space to store stuff)

A sitebuilder is a good choice when you are just starting out. Most website builders have low start up costs and allow you to build your website using a WYSIWYG editor using your web browser. They are set up so that a novice can design his/her own website. If you want a basic site this is your best bet.
You can read reviews of site builders here:

I have tried some of the free site builder programs (google / plesk) and I think that most of them look great on the surface — but you rarely end up with a good looking site.
You might check out http://clickstart.com/ Their sites are self-updable and can be edited using only your web browser. While not free — their prices seam to be really reasonable.
Here is a website that I know they did http://www.clickcallmove.com/ — I think that overall it looks pretty professional looking for a sitebuilder site.
