Hello, recently I have been hosting a bukkit minecraft server with hamachi for me and 3-4 friends. One of those servers where I have a program and they can only get on while im running it. I want to run it 24/7 but I’m worried about my computer. I just built it myself and it is a very high tech high end gaming computer. So can it handle it? Does a server take up a lot of ram and that stuff. I Also have a 4 year old Dell that I can probably keep the server running 24/7 on that. Should I just do that? And what’s the difference between a vps server and a dedicated server. And if I can’t keep it running all the time on one of my computers, anyone know of a good website that will host one for a low affordable price. Thanks in advance. Where a dedicated server you get to use all of the resources of that machine at all times. That is why dedicated servers are more money since you are paying for a whole server.
