Well, I like HostMonster. It looks confusing at first, but just look around and you’ll get it.
By making a website like a MySpace, I guess you mean that you just want to enter the text? HostMonster has site builders that have pre-made designs. But if you want to be able to customize everything just learn HTML, CSS, and PHP.
As far as I know, there is no way to get a domain name for free. So if you don’t mind paying, go Google some cheap domain names.
You can register at http://www.dot.tk , but I’ve had some problems with that site before and it might not be what you’re looking for.
There is a way to host your own website on your router or something similar, downside is with you being the host it goes down whenever your internet is off or having problems.

As for the designing part tho’, get some website templates (there are plenty good free ones) and then use them and edit the HTML to your content, or you can learn HTML and CSS yourself, or use a WYSIWYG editor which is usually allot less neat but does the trick for some people.

I would suggest going to NVU.com. There you can download a webdesign program. Just remember designing a website isn’t very easy. Once you start I would suggest joining some web design forums, which can be very helpful. Just take your time and do not let the minor details get to you.
