It’s not for me, but a friend. I’m trying to find a website that will let me create a website for a budding musician, and with my choice of domain name…I know that probably won’t be free, but good web hosts and sites with a good rate and good templates are welcome.

Hostgator Complaints
No web hosting service is perfect. Some complaints about Hostgator plans include:
- No free domain name included – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. Would you agree that a website is not complete without a domain name?
- You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost. It is like they say, you get what you pay for.

The most reputable free web host is http://webs.com/ but if you want to avoid a lot of the headaches you’ll get with free (limited disk space and bandwidth, static-only sites, advertisements, limited technical support, etc.) invest in a paid web host. These days web hosting can go as low as $3 a month, which is relatively very cheap. Check out http://buywebspacetoday.com/ for good affordable web hosts. All of these hosts bundle free website builders so you can build your own website easily.

Well it depends on what kind of website. You have to choices
1: Join a free website host.
2: Learn a programming langauge and buy a server and domain name
I would suggest you start off with option 1.
You can go to http://www.webs.com. They offer a free website and free web building tool to a begginer in web design.
If you want to go with option 2, you have to buy a book about programming. You may want to learn CSS, Javascript, and HTML or XHTML. Those are the programming languages you need.
