Hostgator Complaints
No web hosting service is perfect. Some complaints about Hostgator plans include:
- No free domain name included – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. Would you agree that a website is not complete without a domain name?
- You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost. It is like they say, you get what you pay for.

I’d recommend that you buy web hosting first. Most companies nowadays offer a free domain if you sign up for a hosting account with them. Check out http://buywebspacetoday.com/links/just-host — Just Host is a reliable web host that offers high quality services at an affordable price.

Any company that is accredited by ICANN is best to use in buying domain names. Don’t just choose a company on the basis of being cheap but consider other factors and the supporting services a company is able to give its clients.

Stick with a domain registrar to register and maintain control of your domain name rather than getting locked-in with a web hosting services site plan.
Once you’ve registered your domain you can then go out and look at all the web hosting and payment system options out there and if you ever then need to change service providers you’ll still have control of your domain.Domain name registration sites differ greatly in prices, services and tools offered – and ease of use – so it’s worth doing some research first.
You can do a search and compare of recommended domain name registrars at http://www.domain.name and you might take a look at http://TheRegistrar.net which offers a secure shopping cart system and online store for around $10 a month.

GoDaddy, Moniker, Namecheap or Internet.bs, in my experience.
Moniker is the most secure, Internet.bs is the cheapest.
