  1. There are many free web hosts out there. Most are PHP server side engines (5.0 or greater) with MySQL DB engine (4.0 or greater) running an Apache host (or fast-cgi host) on a Linux/BSD server (LAMP).

    If you want a personal registered domain name without a sponsor, you have to pay – like godaddy.com

    It doesn’t matter where the server is located (as long as it is in North America)

  2. It appears that you are looking into ‘server colocation’.
    That is almost never cheap.

    You can go with http://www.webhostingbuzz.com and get some great deals with lots of space (shared hosting).

    That may be the route you want. But if you are wanting to set up a gaming server, that will take more money.

  3. those isp’s are made for the average joe but for ppl like trying to host websites alot of time they down or slow. i would suggest using http://www.mediatemple.net they are fantastic and they’re costumer support is amazing i think its 20 a month u wont be dissapointed

  4. actually u get that for cheap,, the server doesn’t have to be locate near you know,, if all u want is a web server u can use a hosting service and if u want ur own server u can request a custom plan where u have ur own servers as a pose to virtual account shared with other users, =) ; u can rely onthe hosting services DNS to promote ur domain name to the world =) virtaul accounts are like 20 dollars a month and customs get priced differently,, =)
