Question about affordable website hosting:
I’ve looked at iPage and fatcow so far, but I would like to hear people’s opinions about it. I’m looking for a place where I could create a personal homepage for myself, well as online shopping is available.
And I also would like to know what you have to do to actually create the website after purchasing your domain.
Expert Answer: You are not alone Web hosting is one of the most important part of your online presence and can mean the success and failure for your business.
Common Misconception
Majaority of people pefer the cheapest web hosting service plan available. However, they didn’t realized yet that most of these cheapest web hosting plans are for more than a year(s) of prepayment.
Clarification
It’s irresistible to ignore some cheapest web hosting plans. However, if you are just starting up, these may not be good for you since majority of these hosting plans are for more than a year(s) of prepayment which is not cost effective if you are just staying for a short period in a web hosting company or just testing your site around.
A good way to find the best web host for your site is to look for coupon codes from big web hosting companies so that you can get big discounts in their web hosting service. In this way, you are assured that you can have quality website hosting service, at least 99.9% server uptime, and responsive customer support.
You can use your newly registered domain name when you are signing up with them. You can start by uploading your own website files to your server via a ftp client like filezilla or through the file manager in your cpanel. You can also use content management systems such as Joomla and WordPress which can be easily installed via one-click installer such as Fantastico. Joomla and WordPress have a wide selection of templates and plugins/extensions that you can choose from and install in your website so there is no need to manually code your website.
To answer the above query, here are 7 qualities to look for in a good web hosting. An excellent hosting:
- lets you try their service for free or at very low price,
- gives unlimited storage,
- offers no limit on bandwidth,
- gives unlimited add-on domains,
- has friendly Site Builder,
- has QuickInstall to quickly install apps like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, OSCommerce, ZenCart and more
- can be easily upgraded to VPS or one of the cheapest dedicated server plans if and when your business require.

Why You May Want to Avoid Hostgator
To be honest, no web hosting service is perfect. Drawback of Hostgator includes:
- No free domain name – but you can easily get a domain name from the best domain registrar such as Godaddy or Namecheap for $10 or less. That is fairly cheap considering a domain name costs no more than a few cups of coffee.
- You need to pay full price after your first invoice – well, they need to make money too and all the support and great service do come with a cost
If you are still not sure if HG is right for you, or you have specific query about anything at all, try the Live Chat at HG. They are fast and knowledgeable. Just shoot them some questions before you decide.
More than 7 million site owners depend on Hostgator for their hosting need.

"S" short and simple eh. well what i would suggest for you is to get a .ws domain. for the following reasons:
-Includes optional webpage builder for beginners
-Newish so there will be lots to choose from
-they will pay you on a monthly basis for referrals
-cost is $10/month – referrals (yes you can profit off it with a little effort)

I have Hostgator Baby plan and so far I haven’t come up to anything unsatisfactory. Even though on a low budget service, they have very responsive support 24/7. Many features. Unlimited domains to host! It is for 7.96$/month.
For both ecommerce and personal blogs, I use WordPress bloging platform. There is a lot of design and function templates that will do all the work for you. No need for a web designer and a programmer. Loads are for free. Those really professional are called Premium WordPress templates and it is worthy to invest about 70$. Have a look.
If you would decide for Hostgator at the end, ensure you find the best discount for you. There are a plenty of vouchers around the web. Default pre-entered promo code SPRING on Hostgator order page is giving only 20% off 1st invoice. Another Hostgator coupon I guarantee is working, is HGGREEN2011 that gives $9.95 off initial order. If you order basic packages, $9.95 discount is better for you. If you buy package > $50 monthly (or paying yearly in advance), go for 25% off HGATOR25OFF.

I would recommend http://hostdodge.com/ , they have plans starting at $1.25/month for hosting, which is very cheap. I’m sure there are some even cheaper, or free, but they aren’t very reliable, i know for a fact this host is reliable.

I’d go with shared hosting. You can always move to VPS or dedicated server hosting once you get so many visitors that it slows down your website, but personally I started off with shared hosting. It’s incredibly cheap, and if you take advantage of a coupon code, you can get hosting for as little as $0.10-0.15 per day. To design the page, I’d use WordPress if you are just starting out…and most of the hosts I list bellow offer a VERY easy 1-click WordPress installation…as well as a variety of e-commerce shopping carts 🙂
This would further include unlimited bandwidth, unlimited web space, unlimited databases (important), and unlimited emails as well as a great sitebuilder. Some like iPage also offer easy PEAR scripts, 1-click WordPress installation, a free domain, and $450 in free goodies. I went with iPage, and already had to bug their support with questions. Both of them were file permission related, but they solved it within minutes. Their live-chat support is amazing and very quick, and the one time I had to call them, they picked up the phone within 2 minutes…very handy if you’re new.
I also browsed the net for cheap hosting coupons, but found out a lot of them are expired or outdated. The most up-to-date coupons I found were on Twitter, probably because it’s easier to update a Twitter stream than a website. If you go to Twitter, and search for WebHostingD, you’ll have all the latest coupons…I went with his 50%OFF iPage offer, and don’t regret it, you’re essentially paying for 6mo, but get 12 months of hosting. Plus, there’s some handy tutorial videos in that Twitter stream that helped me set up WordPress very easily. iPage has been very reliable so far, no noticeable downtime, anytime money-back guarantee (in case I want to cancel), great support, and they’re the cheapest RELIABLE host I found apart from Greenville. I’ve signed up for a second account with Greenville and also used WebHostingD’s Twitter stream to get the coupon, he/she seems to literally update the coupons daily 🙂
http://twitter.com/#!/WebHostingD
Personally, if you’re just starting out, I’d go with with either iPage (if you need the $450 bonus advertising credits), or Greenville (because they’re the cheapest at only 9c/day). Both of them are super reliable, fast, and have great knowledgeable support. Whenever I start a new project, I just pick the cheapest host I can find (taking into consideration coupons)…you can always cancel and move to VPS or dedicated hosting should you really need it. Both those hosts also offer a super easy sitebuilder or 1-click WordPress installation which is great for people just starting out. They also offer MONEY-BACK GUARANTEE…so you can just try it, and cancel at any time shouldn’t you be happy. But I’ve been with both of them for years now, and have always been happy.
Anyway, make sure you check out that Twitter stream once you’ve selected a web host…the guy seems to update the offers daily, so you’ll always get the best deals. Hope I was able to help you a bit 🙂
IMPORTANT: Finally, don’t sign up with Hostgator’s "only 1c in the first month offer" as their 25%OFF coupon is more valuable if you do the math…the other guy has it in his Twitter stream somewhere. Either way, iPage/Greenville are both equally as good and reliable, and cheaper than Hostgator even with a coupon. Also, do NOT go with Bluehost unless you want 3 domains, they charge over $4.5/mo, which is too expensive for shared hosting and a ripoff, even taking into consideration coupons.

Sorry to say but both of them are not having quite good reputation in the market. You can search on google. For your kind of business I would recommend to go for wordpress platform. WordPress has got tons of themes viz. shopping, display gallery etc. Besides its very is to use & requires a very little effort.
Hostmonster though little pricey ($1 more per month compared to others), its worth its features, upto datesness & support.

The first thing you need to do is get some web hosting and domain registration. Web hosting basically allows you to "rent" space on web servers for a fee, so that your website is available on the Internet 24/7. Check out http://buywebspacetoday.com/links/just-host — it’s established, reliable, and best of all, its plans are bundled with Fantastico (more on that later).
When you sign up for web hosting, you will need to register a domain name as well. This is the name that people will type into their browsers to get to your website. yourcompanyname.com is an example of a domain name. Since you’re just getting started, register your domain name with your web host — it will save you time and you won’t have to configure it yourself.
Once you get web hosting, go to your control panel and look for a tool called Fantastico. You can use this software for a one-click install of your e-commerce system of choice. You can choose to use a free e-commerce system (so you’ll have no additional costs) — and you can use this to build your website, upload your product descriptions, and set yourself up to accept payments. You can very easily create the website you want using their web interface.
Good luck!

iPage is one of the top 10 web hosting providers on the Webhostingbreak reviews. I’ve used their web hosting services and quite satisfied with their services. Here’s what the reviews criteria at Webhostingbreak has to say, http://www.webhostingbreak.com/list/top-10-web-hosting/
The experts and their reviews have been quite honest, authentic. I just loved what they suggested. The reviews of iPage and found only positive reviews which I thought were quite amazing for a web hosting starting at $3.50 per month.

Both Fatcow and iPage are great but Fatcow has a 55% sale at the moment so it’s the better choice.
